The Month of News

This month has been crazy! This recent PVHS graduate died at 20 leaving a 1 year old boy and her husband. She had a reaction to a sleeping pill. Then a few weeks later Heath Ledger died in his Manhatten appartment. I was devistated! My favorite movie is A Knights Tale. Then on Sunday night president Hinckley died. We watched a bunch of stuff on the news remembering the prophet. I can't be sad that he is dead because he missed his wife so much and now he is with her, but then again he will be greatly missed in the world and in the church. Monday I chopped my hair off and St. George recieved a record amount of snow! Just kidding. I wish it would snow more! Wednesday I found out that my video I entered into the Reflections program has won region and is moving on to state. I didn't even know it won in my school. I just got a certificate thanking me for participating and a Cafe Rio gift card. Wow. Someone could have told me! They made me feel all rejected then all of the sudden "psyche! you really won!" Whatever. I am happy. Oh and Happy 16th B-day Saije!!!!

Poem I wrote for Creative Writing Class

I am an artist.
I wonder what actress would portray me in the movie of my life.
I hear music everywhere and all the time.
I see the world in terms of composition, lighting, and hue.
I want to travel the world and experience many cultures.
I am an artist.

I pretend I have a British accent in public.
I feel the importance of every eighth note in Handel’s Messiah.
I touch the wet paint on the canvas.
I worry that I will not appreciate nature while it still exists.
I cry when I can’t play my dad’s old guitar.
I am an artist.

I understand the words of Shakespeare.
I say very little.
I dream of the soft yet vibrant sunset on the horizon of a serine ocean near the village of Cambria.
I try to imagine myself as a famous author, but then again
I hope to direct an award winning motion picture.
I am an artist.

Merry New Year!

The busy holidays have already past and I failed to write on this here blog. Now all I can do is reflect on days that have come and gone with the family gatherings and food being shoved down your throat (sometimes unvoluntarily). Yes, we all know the feelings that arise this time of year. Anyways, The Lund clan had a marvelous time at Thanksgiving, but we all missed Uncle Kevin, Aunt Christina and their gang cause Megan plays the flute in the American Fork High Band and they were marching in the Macy's Day parade! We were all very proud of Megan! And jealous cause she was in N.Y. We all ate very well and had a ball going to movies and Zion National Park. Then Christmas rolled along and the traffic in big St. G was out of control! Cars lined up from light to light! Amanda and I got the shock of getting a Wii. Totally unexpected. We also got Guitar Hero III which is killer. Manda and I got CD's like none other and we added at least 4 DVD's to our collection. Our mom got a new Nano Video from our Grandma and I am totally jealous! I want one of those! So the Christmas holiday passed and we went to the Annual Larsen Christmas Party and chilled with our step sis Neisha. We got our gifts from our dad and Cherie (Thanks for the gifts by the way! We loved them) and then tried to watch videos from Trace and Saije. The movies didn't work but we could still watch little clips. Oh boy! Saije and Trace! We all laughed until our stomachs ached. It was great! Anyways, New Years came and we went to Red Lobster and chowed down on the Garlic Cheese Biscuits!! Yummy! Then we chilled and watched about 5 episodes of Northern Exposure (We got the entire collection). I figured out how many hours we watched over the break and I think it came to about 38 hours and 30 minutes! I know! We are freaks. But it was fun. Then The ball dropped and we drank about a gallon of sparkling cider and cranberry cider and pomegranate cider. I love that stuff! But ya, it was a great break.
