Well this morning started out with a bang. We woke up at 6:50. We planned to be leaving the house at 7:00A.M. It was like the one scene in Home Alone where the whole family was going insane. Amanda and I both showered and put our stuff in the trunk. I fed my cat and we filled up the cooler with some tasty snacks and then headed off to pick up Grandma. We picked her up and hit the road while calling Aunt Larene and Aunt Christina to make sure everyone else woke up on time. Now we are just past Milford and we just got off the phone with Christina saying that she hit a bird and a while later Rachel hurled. They had spent a half hour trying to clean it all up. Way to take one for the team Christina!! Ya! Looking out the window is getting boring. It is like a wasteland out there. No, it is a wasteland. Oh wait! I just saw 3 cars! I was starting to wonder if we were the only ones out here. Man, it looks like it could be a horror movie scene. You know like I Know What You Did Last Summer when they hit the guy. Someone could easily kill someone out here and never get caught. Ok. Enough of that. Dude, there are blood stains and road kill every 10 ft. on this long and winding road, that leads to your door. Just kidding. But really. We have almost hit those dang birds that are eating the dead things on the road like 3 times. My mom ducks every time we come close. He Hee. Like that's gonna do anything!
2:45 Lehman Caves
We met up with
Christina and Larene in Baker then rushed to Lehman Caves to buy tickets for the 11:30 tour that we soon found didn't exist so we bought tickets to the 12:30 tour and went down the road a ways to a nice picnic area by a river and had egg sandwhich's and cookies. Then we jetted back up to the visitors center and ent on the tour. It was awesome. The caves were about 50 degrees and it was so cool. After that we drove about an hour and a half to a small town. We all stretched and ate pudding and strawberries. Then we drove towards Mammoth. It was a long drive high in the mountains and my ears were hurting from the drive and the recent ear ache I felt last night. Anyways we finally rolled into the pleasant town called Mammoth and checked into the Motel 6. Dude we got to our rooms and they were sooooooo small! Amanda and I got to share a bed that was not a queen but not a double so we did not sleep very well. Anyway, we got there and went for some food at the nearest KFC for the Famous Chicken, Biscuit Bowls. They were Heck-a-good! Thenwe got ready for bed and watched The Parent Trap on TV. You know the one with Lindsay Lohan. Ha Ha. It has been many years since I've watched that show. Then we tried to go to sleep.
