Alaska!

I haven't been on here in forever! Busy Busy Busy! I felt I should post some pictures of the Christmas trip to Alaska.

It started in Vegas. Neisha, Amanda, and I were staying at Neisha's grandpa's house and they were to take us to the airport in the morning. They did, we went through security fine, we got to our gate, and boarded the plane. The following mishaps are truly grave. Prepare yourself. So we are sitting on the plane in Vegas...waiting...when the pilot comes on and says that there is frost on the wings that needs to "naturally de-frost". So we are patient for the first hour but it starts getting old. They keep coming on and updating us but no good news. Finally we set out and get to Seattle. But there's a little problem. We missed our connecting flight. So we go to costumer service to reschedule a flight. Another problem. The weather there ain't so great so all flights the rest of the day have been cancelled. Kenny from Alaska Airlines had a nice little "chat" on the phone with our mom and he pulled through and got us a free hotel room. Shveet! We get to the hotel and watch The Simpson's Movie on TV. We were starved so we ordered a large pizza. Then our stomachs were pissed at us. We got some complimentary toothbrushes and we showered so we were all clean. We went to sleep and woke up in the morning. We got on the first shuttle (we but in line haha) and realized all the snow in the road! It snowed all night and was still snowing. We got to the airport and checked into security and found our gate. We sat for hours and watched the screen as the delay time kept getting later and the announcer kept saying flights that were cancelled. Ours wasn't. There was still some hope. A few more hours past and we got some food at the over priced food court. Finally Amanda went and asked what the heck was going on and the lady was all snooty and said "this flight is canceled". Psh! Like they didn't announce anything and expected us to just figure it out. The only reason we couldn't fly out that day was because...wait let's see...our plane was stuck in Spokane and then it got here but there was a truck broken down on the runway blocking it's way then we were 7th on the d-icing list. They finally just gave up. We weren't about to sleep in the airport so we got our new flights in the morning and told the guys that we were all underage. haha They took us to the "day care" thing that the underagers go to in the airports. I've never felt so claustrophobic in my life. Also I don't think I will ever be able to watch Shark Tales the same way. There were teenage dirtbags flippin' tricks on their skateboards and this one girl didn't speak English. It was nuts. We had to get out of there! We sat and debated. As soon as they told us that we wouldn't be getting a hotel room because the town has literally shut down which includes the shuttles, we went to the lady at the desk and Neisha was like "Um I don't think we are supposed to be in here. I'm 18" haha "Those one guys just kind of took us here and didn't explain what was going on." She asked how old Amanda was and she said "19" then she asked me "17". She said that Neisha and Amanda were not allowed in there but it was their responsibility to keep me in there! Oh heck no! We told them that wasn't going to work so they called our dad and he said it was ok that we all went out "into the great wide open". He was probably way confused! haha Anyways we got out of there and skipped down the terminals to the food court where we got some Chinese food. Bad idea jeans. Once again our stomachs were angry and cussin' us out. We pulled some benches together and snuggled into the hairy airplane blankets. I only slept like 3 hours but it was all good because this kid was playin' his ukulele in the distance. It came time to go to our gate. We waited to get de-iced and then we started boarding! It was the best feeling in the world!!! We flew out and landed in Juneau. We stayed on the plane and flew into Yakutat. We got off the plane and waited for our bags and our family. Cherie drove up and everyone got out (except dad because there wasn't enough room in the vehicle for everyone) and we all got misty-eyed and hugged each other even though we smelled like bums. haha Our bags never came so we ended up halving to go back that night to get them. But first we needed to shower and Saije said we could use her clothes. We went to the only general store and bought some underwear then headed towards Monti Bay. Then we got to the house and watched Tom Petty documentary. We reflected on old times and talked about what was new. Later that night we even had a huge family debate consisting of everything from Gays to Religion to the depreciation of men in society. Haha it was heated. The next day we made cookies, sang in the Yakutat Tlingit Christmas Program and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus (how many people can say they've done that), watched Muppet Christmas Carol and drank loads of hot chocolate! We made necklaces, shirts,

ate Crab and lots of canned salmon, painted on bear bread (I'll post mine later), painted tons of paintings,

me and Trace Muck went sledding,

and jammed on our new instruments we got for Christmas!

We were snowed in most the time but it was great to spend all that time together!

When we got back home me and Amanda went shopping then had a New Years party all by ourselves with The Blues Brothers, Rocky 4, An Affair to Remember, Lost, and lots of episodes of Northern Exposure. We almost missed the ball dropping! Haha we switched the TV over and scrambled for the right channel. Once we found it we heard "15, 14, 13..." haha after that we watched more movies and made necklaces and drank Sparkling Cider.
